DJ Captain Midnight 54
In 1975, at the age of 16, I was bitten by the DJ bug after going to a party and seeing a DJ for the very first time. Six months later, I had my own equipment and began djing local parties in my area. Fast forward to 1985. I was auditioning against legendary DJ Frankie Corr for a Saturday night spot at Studio 54. Needless to say, I became Studio 54’s Saturday night DJ.
Studio 54 was an incredible experience for me. Not only was I spinning records in the most famous club but I also had the “power” to introduce new music to the crowd. I played everything from Disco to High Energy to Freestyle to New Wave to Top 40.
After Studio 54 closed, I spun in various NYC clubs including, 4D, Red Parrot, Xenon, The Tunnel, Chippendales, and Limelight continuing with my format of playing a wide variety of music.
After semi-retiring from djing, I became a Biology and Marine Biology high school teacher. I taught for over 25 years and am now retired. Throughout all that time, I continued to mix music and now I want to get back into the club scene.
